
Decision making as a team or crew can be difficult enough when personality differences get involved. What happens when each of these individuals also has a different level of risk tolerance and approach to taking those risks? What happens when we don’t realize that increased stress levels are compromising good decision making by an individual or team leading to catastrophic results. We will look at the human factors of personalities, risk tolerance and stress effects in First responders and especially medical responders. Through various lenses including recent research, personal motivators, risk tolerance, and stress resilience models, base and organizational leadership will discover new thoughts and ideas on how to develop better stress tolerance and decision making in Emergency Medical crews.
